Kybella® Double Chin Treatment at Tru Glō Medspa
A Groundbreaking Treatment For The Reduction Of Double Chin
If you’re looking to restore your self-confidence by decreasing the size of your double chin, Tru Glō Medspa offers the only FDA-approved injectable treatment to reduce “submental fullness,” also known as the double chin. Our Naples, Florida-based medical spa can treat your double chin with Kybella®, a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a natural compound found in the body that has been medically proven to break down and absorb fat. Our Kybella® injections are safe and cause limited pain and no real down time.
A double chin is a common facial condition that can be caused by a number of factors. While weight gain is a common cause, the condition can also afflict those who are not overweight as a result of aging and/or genetics.
Along with giving an appearance typically related to being overweight, a double chin also distorts the facial contours and aesthetics in a manner that makes the face appear unbalanced and older. Until the introduction of Kybella®, invasive double chin treatments were generally the only option as fat deposits under the chin are especially resistant to traditional diet and exercise weight loss methods.

Frequently Asked Questions
Approved by the FDA in 2015, Kybella is a synthetic form of a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that breaks down and absorbs fat. When injected into the treatment area, the synthetic formulation begins to break down the area’s fat cells, which are then further broken down and absorbed by the body.
After a consultation with your Kybella®-trained healthcare specialist to determine aesthetic goals relating to the submental area, a treatment plan including injection points and number of sessions will be determined. The actual injection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes and typically includes multiple small injections under your chin. The exact number of injections, as well as number of sessions, is dependent upon the amount of submental fat and the desired profile after treatment.
While there may be some tenderness and a slight burning sensation felt during and shortly after the procedure, most people can resume their normal activities immediately.
A slight burning sensation, tenderness, and swelling are the most common side effects. More serious problems such as bruising, difficulty swallowing, facial muscle weakness, and ulceration, have been reported by a very small number of patients.
Kybella treatment results are generally noticeable within four to six weeks after the first injections. Because the fat cells are destroyed, results are permanent and further treatment should not be needed once you’ve met your aesthetic goals.
