Address Visible Signs of Aging on the Lower Face and Hands with Radiesse® at Your Naples, Florida Medical Spa
If you are unsure about which dermal filler might best address the visible signs of aging on your face, you’re not alone because there are many options out there! But if you’re seeking the best dermal filler to address visible signs of aging in your hands, well, hands down (pun intended) we’d recommend Radiesse®. And, depending upon aesthetic goals and areas of the face targeted for wrinkle, crease, line and fold reduction, we might also suggest Radiesse® as the perfect dermal filler option for your face.
As the first FDA-approved dermal filler for both the face and hands, Radiesse® effectively targets and helps correct the following facial- and hand-aging concerns:
- Marionette lines
- Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
- Pre-jowl folds
- Lines at corner of mouth
- Chin wrinkles
- Lost volume on the hands
- Prominence of veins and tendons on back of hands
Radiesse® is one of several injectable options Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa offers its clients. A consultation with Stacey Blake, our nurse practitioner, can determine whether Radiesse® is the perfect option for your skin care needs. Whether opting for Radiesse® or another dermal filler option, our patients typically report satisfaction with the results.
What is Radiesse® and How is it Different Than Other Dermal Fillers?
Injectable dermal fillers help reduce the visible signs of aging in part by adding volume to the dermis space beneath wrinkles, lines, creases, and folds. Many of them also include substances that help stimulate collagen production for further enhancement of the dermal filler’s effectiveness. Dermal fillers typically display results which are immediately visible, though collagen stimulation may provide further improvements over time.
While many fillers rely on hyaluronic acid or other natural acids as their primary collagen stimulator, Radiesse® is made with calcium hydroxylapatite, a mineral found in teeth and bones. While research into whether Radiesse® provides greater or longer collagen production stimulation is limited, some studies have concluded that patient satisfaction with results may last longer than with some other fillers.
Is Radiesse® the Right Dermal Filler for Me?
Whether Radiesse® is the right dermal filler option for your aesthetic goals relating to reducing the look of wrinkles, creases, or lines depends on a variety of factors. For example, your Tru Glō Medspa aesthetician would likely not recommend Radiesse® to correct forehead wrinkles, glabellar lines, and some other upper face concerns, as Botox™ and some other injectable treatments are known to be more effective for these areas. The overall condition and depth of wrinkles, creases, and lines, along with facial volume loss may also influence the recommendation of whether Radiesse® is the perfect option, or whether a different dermal filler should be used. Last, there may also be medical concerns, such as allergies or other pre-existing conditions, that may preclude the use of some dermal fillers, but not others.
Your Radiesse® Treatment at Tru Glō Medspa
Your Radiesse® treatment at Tru Glō Medspa involves the use of a fine needle that injects Radiesse® into targeted areas of your face and/or hands. While discomfort tends to be minimal, local anesthetic can be used with the injection to help reduce pain. Patients can expect some mild swelling, redness, tenderness, and perhaps light bruising for 24 hours or so, but this can be alleviated with a cold pack. Downtime is typically minimal, and most patients are able to return to work or resume related activities within 24 hours.
