ProFractional™ therapy can be used to treat most skin areas, though it tends to be used most often to treat skin on the face and neck, followed by the chest and hands.

After the treatment area’s skin has been cleaned, and your eyes protected with a safety shield, a laser handpiece is positioned over the site and turned on. As the laser energy is being applied, you will hear a rapid succession of snapping sounds. The handpiece is moved as needed to provide coverage as earlier determined by your Naples skin care specialist. In general, the procedure usually takes from between 15 to 30 minutes.

Excellent results can be achieved with just one therapy session, though, based on skin condition, some patients may need additional sessions.

Following the procedure, most patients experience a sensation similar to sunburn along with a mild reddening of the skin. Some patients also experience mild swelling. Your skin care specialist will advise you about what topical analgesics, moisturizers, and other ointments you can use during the healing process, which usually takes a few days. Most patients are usually able to return to their usual activities within a day or so of the treatment; however, direct sun exposure is strongly discouraged until you are fully healed.
