How Long Does the Procedure Take and Is There Down Time?

Depending upon the results sought, the MINT™ PDO procedure can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Most patients experience minimal to moderate pain during the procedure. Topical numbing agents and/or injectable lidocaine can help ease the pain. After-affects can include mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the insertion sites, though these conditions typically resolve within days. Some patients also experience tight skin sensation, but this usually eases within two weeks. Patients can resume normal daily activities the day after the procedure. Still, they should avoid high-impact sports and strenuous exercise for one to two weeks. Do not schedule dental procedures for two weeks.
